About the Event
You are invited to a monthly magical and marvelous evening, where we gather outdoors on the evening of the full moon around crackling fires to enjoy each other’s company, welcome in the forces of nature, delight in themed snacks and beverages, and share nascent stories, performances, songs, and poems with one another. Join us for Moon on Fire.
This month, we are gathering and celebrating the Sturgeon Moon on Fire, at 7 pm in Old Irving Park in Chicago on Sunday, August 22.
This evening will feature a line-up of performers, followed by an open mic and casual hangs.
The Sturgeon Moon this month was named by Native and indigenous North American fishing tribes because sturgeons were abundant in this month, especially in the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water. This moon is also known as the Full Green Corn Moon (the corn is almost ready for harvest!),…
